Using the Toolbar

The toolbar allows you to interact with the map by clicking on the map with a tool. For example, if you click in the toolbar on the Zoom In tool, then click on the map, the map will zoom in around where you click.

To use a tool

Tools

Name Icon Description
Pan (recenter) Pan tool Click and hold the left mouse button on the map, and drag the map. The map will be recentered, with the location dragged at the location you dropped it.
Zoom In Zoom in tool Click and hold the left mouse button down on the map at one corner of the rectangle to zoom in to. Drag the mouse to the other corner of the rectangle, and release the mouse button. The map will zoom in to the area of the rectangle.
Zoom Out To City Full map extent Immediately changes the map showing the entire city. The active tool does not change.
Project Info Identify tool Click on a colored line or icon (picture) on the map and read the information in the "Project Info" window directly beneath the toolbar.

Using Floating Windows

The Project Info and Legend windows on the left side of the application can be undocked, collapsed, and/or enlarged.

How To Manipulate Floating Windows

To enlarge a floating window

  1. Hover the cursor over the edge of the window until it appears as a double headed arrow.
  2. Drag the window to the desired width or height.
